I struggled with this book, set against a context of debutantes’ balls and the coming out process. I don’t think that this was a judgement on that now archaic world itself, but more a difficulty accommodating the slightly smirking condescension with which Dame Ngaio portrayed it all. In Death in a White Tie, the plot develops very slowly/5(14).   Benedict☆Cumberbatch - Death in a White Tie 6/7 - Duration: Ceha views. Midsomer Murders - Sea Episode 5 - The Sleeper under the Hill.

★♡★Benedict read a Death in a White Tie, Ngaio Marsh written by one of the four queens of crime calls in the literature. Three hours and eighteen minutes of narration in the beautiful voice. Could you see Death in a White Tie being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be? It has already been beautiful done by the BBC as part of the Mystery series. I highly recommend it, especially the wonderful Harold Innocent as Lord Robert. Any additional comments? A good story but the sound quality made it hard to enjoy.

If you want a book which is beautifully written, full of interesting rounded characters, with a twist of mystery, and a ongoing romance, then this is the book for you. Death in a White Tie is an old fashion detective story set in an age when life was lived at a much slower pace, with a hero who wears saville row suits, and is a perfect gentleman with beautiful manners/5(71).

Death in a White Tie is a reread for me. I discovered Ngaio Marsh back at my hometown Carnegie Library (more moons ago than we need to count) and I promptly read through all the Marsh books they had. Later, about twenty years ago, I read some of them again and Death in a White Tie was one simply because it's one of my favorites.4/5.
